The consumer Claude apps are governed by the consumer terms, where training is on unless opted out; that is a separate entry.
“Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services.”
“For Anthropic API users, we automatically delete inputs and outputs on our backend within 30 days of receipt or generation, except:”
EU and other regional inference is available through cloud partners (Bedrock, Vertex AI, Foundry) rather than the first-party API.
“Anthropic is a global company, and when you access our Services, your personal data is transferred to our servers in the US, or to other countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and the UK for the purposes outlined in Section 2 of this Privacy Policy, for example to provide you with the Service, or to train our models, or to conduct research.”

Assessment
Reasoning: The Claude model API under commercial terms: no training on customer content, 30-day deletion with a zero-retention option, and a DPA. The first-party API processes in the US; organisations needing EU inference use the cloud-partner deployments. Rated low for the API itself; the consumer apps are rated separately.
Flags: US processing on the first-party API · Assessed 2026-09-16. The assessment is Unseen's; the terms above are the vendor's.
